Approximately twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms swept through the area, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Locals witnessed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that various areas across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly one thousand energy customers in the southern state also faced energy failures after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, primarily for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham region - nearly 180 calls for assistance
At one point on the previous day, over 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
